Needless to say that Thailand is a beautiful place. Everyone knows that. Phuket however makes the rest of Thailand look much less impressive. Green hilled islands in the middle of the ocean with perfect weather year round make a perfect destination wedding paradise for darring couples. Phuket’s rocky peninsula, limestone cliffs, white powdery beaches, tranquil bays and tropical forests make it the South Thailand’s wealthiest, busiest, most visited and most popular island. Enough said.
A breathtaking setting ensures a memorable event, and there are few places more unforgettably stunning than the island of Phuket on the Andaman Sea in the south of Thailand. Located approximately 862 kilometers south of Bangkok is Phuket, Thailand’s largest island, which is often dubbed as “the pearl of the Andaman, or the pearl of the south”. In a perfect combination of the Indian Ocean behind you and the tropical jungle rain forest on the mountains rising above you and where there are flowers are so dense their scent fills the air with the sense of exotic Southeast Asia. Phuket is a truly magical place that holds the tropical wedding & honeymoon of your dreams… We hope you choose to have a destination wedding there and take Lux with you!
We love the meatpacking district in New York City, and all the wonderful scenic neighborhoods that surrond it: Chelsea, West Village, Hudson River Park, and even new-ish High Line Park. The environment adds a lot to any wedding or engagement video and it’s quite easy to work in that area, walk around, treasure hunt some lovely spots and natural backdrops. Our hearts however go out to all the wonderful brides and bridesmaids who courageously have to walk on their hills on cobblestone streets. We admire their sacrifice in the name of art and beauty.
And for those who are timred of walking around there are plenty of stylish cafes and restaurants to take a break at. Our favorite lately became the newly opened Cafe Gitane at The Jane Hotel. There are however plenty of choices among the classic Meatpacking area establishments: Barbuto, The Diner, Fig & Olive, The Spotted Pig, La Bottega at the Maritime Hotel, Pastis. And if the bride needs a quick dress upgrade there is Gabriella’s New York Bridal Salon right in the neighborhood as well as Christian Louboutin‘s lovely store, Diane von Furstenberg flagship store, Charles Nolan, Catherine Malandrino, Jeffrey, ADAM, Scoop NYC.
We are happy to boast about the brand new method in production of rather predictable wedding videos. This is a result of a constructive collaboration between many creative professionals and will change the way wedding, engagement and bridal videos are made – for good! Until the rest of the world catches up contact Lux to get your wedding filmed in our unique editorial style today.
This is the video where unique idea meets skilled cinematography. What makes this engagement video particularly lovely is of course the couple who are not afraid to look silly and were subjected to a full day of videotaping all around Manhattan.
To our question whether Natasha liked her and Seth’s wedding video she promptly fired out: “I totally do!!! … I love the video. The songs for the short are perfect! I love, love, love it!!!
It makes me fall in love all over. It has brought tears to everyones’ eyes.”
Receiving responses such as this one convinces us more and more that we are doing something right by our brides.
We love what we do, and this attitude influences and shapes our approach to wedding photography and cinematography. There is much more to shooting weddings and photographing engagements than capturing the key moments, or routinely shooting only “what sells”. A great wedding photographer should concentrate on creating visual stories, capturing moments, and most importantly making brides look and feel beautiful.
Lux Journal regulars probably remember that Natasha’s ravishing face and Seth’s loving eyes already have made a few appearances on the pages of this blog, initially after their New York engagement session http://luxphotostudios.com/2010/08/tash-seth-engagement-in-new-york/ and then after their Long Island wedding http://luxphotostudios.com/2010/08/natasha-seth-long-island-wedding/
Our brides welcome their fifteen minutes of fame, and when asked if she minded being featured on our blog, Natasha replied: “I like the idea of being the face of Lux!!
That would be awesome…I’m going to have to schedule another wedding to stay on the blog! Lol!”
