Q) What can I expect when I purchase this deal?
A) Contact us at offers@luxphotos.com and give us your Name, Email and Telephone number, and the coupon code. We will email you back shortly with a range of possible dates and times. After you pick one we will email you the booking confirmation. The next step is your photo session.

Q) What happens at the photo session?
A) Our talented photographer will create some stunning portraits of you, your family or your favorite pet, all within 60 minutes of your session.

Q) How soon can my session take place?
A) Sessions begin April 1st . Dates are subject to availability and no specific date can be guaranteed.

Q) How long after my session can I order prints?
A) Images will be available within two weeks from your shoot. We will send you a password and you will have two weeks to order your image.

Q) What are the typical Manhattan locations you shoot at?
A) There are so many.. South Street Sea Port, Financial District, West Village and the Meatpacking District, Highline Park, Chelsea Piers, Union Square, Washington Square Park, Flatiron, K-town, Little Italy, Chinatown, Grand Central Station, Central Park.. the list goes on. We would be happy to hear which specific location you have in mind.

Q) What days and times can my session be arranged?
A) Any day and time, as long as we are available and there is enough of the daylight.

Q) If I wanted to extend my allotted time slot can it be done? In what increments?
A) Yes you can purchase “extra time” in increments of 1 hour at a preferred rate of $150/hour. This should be done through Lux Photo Studios at the time of booking your appointment with us.

Q) Can you arrange for a hair and make-up and/or stylist for my photo shoot?
A) Yes, we can for an additional fee. Let us know what you are looking for and we will provide you with further details.

Q) How will I get my photographs and the print?
A) First we send you a link to your private digital gallery so you can preview all the photographs and pick you favorite one, so we can edit it and print it. Then we will mail you everything, the print and the disk with all the photographs.

Q) What if I would like to order more than one professionally printed photograph, can I do so and how?
A) You can do so directly from your online gallery: select your favorite images, add them to your shopping cart, pick the size and finish, purchase. Please note that the individual image prices include a complete retouch and photo edit, so you will be getting a professional print or if you prefer a gallery-wrapped canvas.

Q) Will you travel to Brooklyn, Queens, Staten Island, Bronx and New Jersey?
A) Travel within Manhattan is included in the price, and for travel to any of the boroughs and NJ within the reach of the PATH train will be $150 extra. If you need us to travel a little further we will asses the cost and provide you with an exact quote.

Q) How can I redeem my voucher?

Q) Is the voucher cancelable and/or refundable?
A) It is neither cancelable nor refundable.

Q) What if I can’t make to my scheduled appointment with the photographer?
A) That would make us sad, but we can reschedule if you give us enough of a notice, 72 hours to be precise, otherwise your coupon would be forfeited. Only one reschedule is permitted.

Q) Can I bring a change of clothes?
A) You sure can. As many changes of clothes as you can fit within the 60 minute time slot allotted to your photo session.

Q) Can I buy this offer as a gift for family or friends?
A) You sure can!

Q) Can I use this deal for my engagement photo session?
A) Yes, and congratulations!

Q) What type of sessions is this offer good for?
A) Families, Children, Babies, Couples, Engagements, Headshots, Portraits. Commercial work is not included.

Q) Do you have a studio?
A) We do, but this deal is only for the on-location and outdoor photo sessions using natural daylight.

Q) Can my photo session be at more than one location?
A) Due to time constraints we cannot shoot your session at multiple locations.

Q) Can I order additional prints after the deal is done?
A) You can do so using our online ordering system. Your private online gallery will expire one month after the day your photographs are posted.

Q) Do you release the original or RAW files?
A) No, all digital files are touched up and converted to .jpeg files. We do shoot in RAW, but we never release those files.

This was Nikaah or day two of a three-day traditional Indian Muslim wedding in Miami, FL. Nikaah is typically the biggest day of the festivities, and includes the ceremony of Welcoming the Baraat, signing of the Nikaahnama, Blessing of the Groom, Dinner, Prayers and Aarsimashaf, and finally the Rukshat – when bride’s family officially gives her away to the groom.

Zara, the bride, wore a traditional wedding Sari, adorned by truly fine Indian wedding jewelry. Her arms, hands, and feet still showed the Henna marks (or turmeric paste) leftover from the Mehndi Ceremony from the night before.

Ahh, the colors, the garlands, the outfits, the body art, wedding jewelry, and many many traditions that accompany any Indian wedding, be it Muslim or Hindu or Sikh are simply wonderful to witness and photograph.

Zara chose to get ready at the Hotel attached to the venue, while the groom got ready at his parents house located in Coral Gables some distance away from the venue. Close family members gathered early in the day to start the celebration and properly send the groom off to get married.

Welcoming the Baraat is a tradition of welcoming the groom and his wedding procession with music, dances, sweets, and small pranks. Our groom Faraz arrived on horseback adorned in traditional wedding garlands and was greeted by a mob of friends and relatives, who threw money at him, and as soon as the groom got off the horse the dancing started with surprising intensity.

Nikaah was a lavish affair with abundant supply of mouthwatering food, energetic Bollywood style music, and hundreds of colorful Saris (or Saree – a strip of unstitched cloth, worn by females, ranging from four to nine yards in length that is draped over the body in various styles).

Traditionally, on the day of the Nikaah the elder members of the two families decide the amount of Mehar (nuptial gift). In Muslim Nikah, Mehar is a compulsory amount of money given by the groom’s family to the bride. The Qadi conducting the ceremony asks the bride if she has agreed to marry the groom and whether she accepts the amount of Mehar. Once the bride gives her consent the Qadi reads the marriage contract to the groom. After the groom gives his consent, the Nikaah-Nama (marriage contract) must be signed by the bride, the bridegroom, their Walis, the witnesses and the Qadi. The Nikaah-Nama also contains certain terms and conditions, which are in accordance with the religion and agreeable to both parties.

After the marriage contract is signed the newlyweds can finally look at each other and smile. After the Nikaah-Nama is signed, the Qadi delivers a sermon called Khutba, consisting of verses from the Quran which lay particular emphasis on obligations toward women. The Qadi explains the meaning of these verses to the audience with an explanation of the mutual rights and duties of the spouses. And then the dancing starts!

After the reception close family and friends arrived to the bride’s parents’ house for the ceremony of Rukshat, a tearful farewell before the bride departs for her husband’s house. This was by far the most emotional part of the wedding day. The bride’s father barely holding back tears, gave his daughter’s hand to her husband and instructed him to protect and take good care of his only daughter.

This is a sample of our same day edit wedding video from last weekend’s spring wedding that started at parents’ homes, with the ceremony at the very lovely Chapel of The College of New Rochelle, followed by the ceremony at the VIP Country Club in New Rochelle, NY. Our same day edit film was shown during the dinner on four plasma screen TVs provided by the VJ of the event, very skillful and entertaining DJ Serg.

Same day edits are a true testament to the professionalism of any wedding cinematography studio. Besides having the right skills to do it, one needs to be prepared for absolutely anything, from having ALL the possible wires, converters, back-ups and back-ups of the back-ups to having to put together a great video within the matter of few hours. No kidding, but SDE are the most stressful aspects of wedding cinematography, so much so that 95% of all the wedding videographers do not even offer it. Lux is among only a handful of wedding videography studios in New York that offer the day-of-the-wedding films.

Of course this video has a few imperfections that are a trademark of any SDE, but it is still quite impressive and the guests and the bride and groom loved it – and that is the most important thing! 1. Speak or Meet With Lux

This can be done on the phone (888-428-2040), or in person (Lux has studios in New York, Miami and Montreal). During this time we will answer all questions you may have concerning what we do, and more specifically what we can do for you, your wedding, anniversary, Bar-Mitzvah or any other special day. If you are planning a destination wedding we will gladly share our experiences as we have shot all around the globe.

2. Share Your Vision With Lux

This is where we will learn about your wedding day and your style (candid and photojournalist-like or more artistic and traditional, or a combination of both – our signature photographic style), in as much detail as possible, so that we can understand your needs. We’ll help you with all of the facets of your photo experience with us. From determining how many shooting hours you will need to what type of album design to choose… Whether you are planning a wedding on a budget or having lush destination nuptials, we will help you cut costs with regards to photography and videography. Most importantly, sharing your vision with us will help you decide what you want your wedding photos and videos to say.

3. Reserve Your Date: Booking and Deposit

We will send out your agreement within days of the consultation describing in detail your customized wedding package. We ask for an initial deposit of half of the total package cost, payable by cash, check, debit card or any major credit card.

4. Check In Before Event

About one week before your wedding you will be contacted by Lux to review and update the important details of your wedding day. You will discuss any additional ideas you may have had, the schedule for your wedding day, and any must-have portraits. We will also review the location. It is very likely that we have shot at your venue before, so we can be a great help in brainstorming settings for the perfect bridal picture.

5. Final Payment
The remaining balance of your payment is due one week prior to the wedding day.

6. Wedding Day

The bride, the groom, formals, ceremony, limo, reception, first dance, bridal bouquet, cake, and much more – Lux captures your story!

7. View Images Online, Receive Your Negatives, and Design Your Wedding Album

No matter if it is a local Manhattan event or a beach wedding, within days your images will be uploaded to our Online Gallery where you can review and pick your favorite images with your friends and family. Once you have made your final choice, you can begin working with our Album Design team to create a customized album that tells your wedding story just the way you want it.

8. Ongoing

You have an amazing support network with Lux. We will always be available to answer any questions about your event, your photographs, videos, albums and other products and services.
